Everyone at Ladygate Bowling Club would like to congratulate Tony Waller, Chris Harris and Richie Collier on reaching the Middlesex County Men’s Triples Final.
The final will be played at Bounds Green Bowling Club on Saturday 25th July, with a 10:00am start. They will face the Hendon trio of Norman Worley, Tom Smith and Glen Adams in what promises to be a closely contested match.
Reaching the County Final is a fantastic achievement in itself, but it also means the Ladygate trio have qualified for the Bowls England National Championships at Leamington Spa. Representing Middlesex A, they will take on Hertfordshire B on Saturday 22nd August, with their match scheduled for either 9:00am or 12:45pm.
The County Finals also see further Ladygate interest as Tony Waller competes in the Men’s Two Woods Championship, which gets underway at 2:00pm. The draw will be made on the day, with fellow qualifiers including Ashley Tanner (Ashford), Glen Adams (Hendon) and Andy Griggs (Bounds Green).
Adding to an already impressive programme, Tony has also reached the Middlesex County Singles Final, where he will face Glen Adams at 2:00pm. With both players skipping their respective county triples finalists, it promises to be an excellent contest between two experienced competitors.
Tony’s success in reaching the County Singles Final also secures his place at the National Championships. Representing Middlesex A, he will face Norfolk B on Wednesday 26th August, with the match due to start at either 9:00am or 12:30pm.
These achievements are a testament to the dedication, commitment and high standard of bowls being played at Ladygate. To have club members competing for county titles and representing Middlesex on the national stage is something the whole club can be proud of.
